Creme Brulee (Ramsay vs Stewart)

This is my first attempt to make creme brulee. I’ve always wanted to make creme brulee but since i don’t have a blowtorch to do the finishing so i thought i couldn’t make it. But with a full spirited i decided to make it using my oven. And the result wasn’t really disappointed. Thankfully, my boyf bought me a blowtorch to give the creme brulee perfection. I was using two different recipes here. The first one i made was Gordon Ramsay’s recipe and the second one is from Martha Stewart. The reason why i ‘m using two recipes is because on my first trial with Ramsay’s recipe after i baked it in oven, the batter seems not set. It was like Puyo’s silky pudding. I thought it was supposed to be firm after i baked it. So i immediately decide to try another recipe to see the difference. And Martha Stewart seems good to go.

Chicken Masala (India Cuisine)

I always curious with Garam Masala. A spice from India. I heard it once when i watch Gordon Ramsay cook Chicken Tikka Masala. And i searched for that spice on internet. I found Garam Masala Spice in a supermarket that sell import spices. I didn’t really know how it taste so i decided not to bought it that time.

It was two weeks ago when i dine in in a restaurant with my friends. They serve a menu Seafood Masala. I recognized the name, but since i already ate so don’t think i can accept more food into my tummy. Thankfuly, my friend wanted to give it a try so i had a chance to taste how it was like. I like the taste immediately. So the next time i visit the restaurant with my boyf, i know exactly what i want to order; that Seafood Masala.

Homemade Twinkies

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine went to Unites States. I was thinking to ask her to buy me an Apple TV since it was so hard to find it here in Jakarta. Fortunately i found the Apple TV from someone i know in a tech forum on internet (bless the technology!). Just a few days before she take off, i finally asked her to buy me Twinkies. A snack from United States which i knew from my cousin when he was still lived in the state. I asked her to buy me not too much since i didn’t want to bother her. Apparently she brought me two boxes of Twinkies! (God Bless you, mba Juli! Love ya!) And what surprised me the most is she bought me The Minion Edition Twinkies! Ha! I’ve been read it on internet that Hostess had a selfie contest with that minion twinkies. But, i decide not to get in because i thought it was only for American citizens only.

Fluffy (My first Guinea Pig)

Fluffy The Fatty

Right now i’m gonna talk about my pet. A few years ago i had a Black Labrador dog named Conan Doyle. He was died about 2 years ago after we tried to removed a tumor near his stomach. It was the saddest moment in mylife. I lost my own beloved dog who had been with me for almost 12 years. It hurts me a lot lost Conan. But i always love animals. So it took me 2 years after Conan’s death to have another pet.

I saw Fluffy in a Petshop in a mall at North Jakarta. He look quite fat and cute to me. My boyf asked me if i want to buy her or not. After a long discussed, i decided to bought Fluffy. I still remember i bought her for 50k rupiah. I went home with a wonderful feeling that time. I was happy to have something i care and responsible to. I named her Fluffy because i loved Agnes in Despicable Me Movie at that time.

Hummingbird Eatery Jakarta (Review)

Yesterday, i had a chance to visit a place called Hummingbird Eatery. That wasn’t a place of Hummingbird’s birds (i know that little creature, amazing bird though). It was a restaurant inside of a mall at South Jakarta. Seems like the type of the restaurant is Casual Dining with a little high price but still acceptable.
